A thought (read with an open mind & heart):

Why is God's love agapic (selfless love bestowed becos of what he/ she is rather than what he/ shee has) and ours can't be?

Because God does not live in our world.
Our world: competitive, capitalist, consumerism.
The use of love, the exchange of commodities makes it so hard for our love to be selfless & always giving. Love in society will always be compared to, compared with and has qualities (be it economic/ moral/ cultural) that we will attribute to in a partner.

Why then do some people rather love God than humans themselves?

Because God is able to give selfless love that humans for those reasons can't. People will be seeking for that type of 'love' where pple do not weigh costs & benefits (because without dreams, sometimes we're unable to carry on with lives/ live life happily). Thus, pple 'escape' to the love God provides: a utopia/ dream that we escape from our world of materialism and realism.

God's love is enough for us.

God's love is enough because unlike humans, God's love is well rounded and perfect (so much so it doesn't exist here). We cannot compare a human with a god. It is therefore biased to say that statement when two individuals are totally different~

In conclusion: Religion is an utopia where people can escape from their world. The purpose of religion is for people to believe life always has hope. Without religion, some people will become disillusioned/ lose purpose in life.

P.S.: I'm not suffering from some post blues/ post depression. lOlx.
Nor am i against religion. And i only start writing all these becos of the words 'agapic love'.
